dc.description.abstractStructural lineaments interpretation from remote sensing products integrated with data of airborne geophysical data (magnetometry) had as objective to investigate and to define the hydrogeological local control in Rio de Janeiro State. Photogeological techniques were applied to the tectonic-structural analysis by using satellite imagery. Several thematic maps, such as structural lineament, joint zone traces and morphostructural were produced and analyzed. The vertical to subvertical fractures. (directions around N50E, N50W and N75E) are responsible for the recharge of the fissured aquifers in the structural highs. This fracture system, in connection with the subhorizontal fractures, works as groundwater conductors for the recharging
