Abstract

The mineral resources of a determined continental margin are basically associated with the type of margin and, by extension, the continental margin of eastern South America, mineral resources are associated with the continental margin of diverging or atlantic type. In the particular case of Brazilian Continental Margin, the existence of evaporites, sulphur, construction material, heavy minerals, phosphates and polymetallic nodules is discussed.
