O Estudo de uso e cobertura do solo para o Baixio da Boa Vista: municípios de Xique-Xique e Itaguaçu da Bahia, Bahia, Brasi

Abstract

The burning practice is a very common procedure in livestock and agricultural areas. However, this practice, in fact, also consumes an extensive area of the caatinga bioma in regions at the São Francisco river valley. The work area covers the entire length of the municipalities of Xique-Xique and Itaguaçu da Bahia, both located in the State of Bahia. With regard to land use and cover, a preliminary approach was carried out based on the treatment of satellite images. After analyzing the results, the comparative land use and cover, for the years 2008 and 2018 illustrated the progress of extensive livestock and agricultural activities, and how it has been taking over the caatinga space.
