The Jaciara and Juscimeira towns, located at the southeast portion of Mato Grosso State, have a hydrothermal aquifer system conditioned by a peculiar stratigraphic and tectonic positioning of sedimentary rocks from the northern edge of the Paraná Basin (Furnas and Ponta Grossa Formations). The outcrop of this hydrothermal aquifer allows the development of resorts with great potential for local tourism development. This study provides the following geomorphological compartmentation of the study area: the Serra de São Vicente–São Jerônimo escarpment; the Jaciara plateau; the São Lourenço River stepped valley; and the São Lourenço-Poxoréu divisor plateau. The geomorphological approach is important to supply purposes to increase economic development on a sustainable basis, highlighting alternative uses, in addition to the development of tourism with rational use of hydrothermal sources. In Jaciara and Juscimeira towns, the development of Geotourism has great significance taking into account the set of trails, natural viewpoints, caves, cliffs, waterfalls, rapids and natural pools that occur, specially, along several tributaries of the São Lourenço River.
